Children’s Soccer

First Presbyterian Church of Nashville soccer leagueSpring 2024 Soccer Season

First Presbyterian Church has a long history of using our beautiful property to encourage playfulness and relational connection to enhance faith development in people of all ages. The act of playing together can teach us many things about ourselves, our neighbors, and our creator. Athletics can be a beautiful vehicle for growth and discipleship. Because of this, we believe children’s soccer is an important part of our mission here at FPC and we are excited about the spring soccer season.

During the soccer season, we will host seven Saturday gamedays. All games will be held on the FPC campus between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Saturday game days.

Season Schedules by Division

Player Information

  • Teams are available for boys and girls, ages 3 years through rising 4th graders.
  • Team & Season Communications
    • Coaches are the primary communicators for each team. Since the schedule is set for the duration of the season, FPC Recreation will not send out weekly email updates this season.
  • Practice Times and Locations
    • Practice times and locations are set by coaches.
  • Player Equipment Needed
    • FPC will provide jerseys for each team. Parents will need to provide cleats, shin guards, water bottles, and a ball for their child.
  • Jerseys
    • All divisions will be using the same, reversible jersey. One side will be navy blue and the other will be gray.
    • As we know that many teams enjoy having unique designs, we have no issue with teams creatively decorating their jerseys!
    • To keep gamedays simple and avoid delays in start times: if a team appears on the left column of the schedule, they will wear grey on that gameday. If a team is on the right side, they will wear navy blue on that gameday.

Coach Information

  • Coaches’ Manual (pdf)
  • We will try to accommodate team member/roster requests to make it easier for carpooling, existing school relationships, etc., but we cannot close any teams to children who are not currently connected to a team. Please have a list of your preferred team members ready at registration.
  • Our Recreation Team will review your roster submission, and team rosters will be finalized and released by March 8.
  • Coaches Orientation Meeting will be held Wednesday, March 13, at 6:00 p.m. via Zoom.
  • All coaches must complete a background check.

Updated Jersey Pickup Location: Starting this season, we’ve elected to facilitate our jersey pickups through the downstairs Recreation Office near the Oak Hill gym instead of the Front Desk of the Church Offices. This decision has been made as a means of circumventing the logistical constraints that arose from our prior approach.

The process by which jerseys can be picked up will be largely the same, with you simply needing to go to the old Recreation Office when the times comes.

That office can be found on the map HERE where it says in the center “Entrance to Recreation Office” with an arrow. Once there, you will find a set of stairs (and a sign which says Recreation Office); go up the stairs and through the first set of doors. Immediately to your right, there will be a bank teller’s window where a member of our team can get your name and bring your team’s jerseys to you.

Jerseys will be available for pickup from that office March 18-22 from 9am-4pm. They will not be available at the Front Desk of the church. Further, for those wishing to simply pick their team jerseys on the first Saturday of games, you will still be able to do so at the Cannon Center, like usual.
