Children’s Soccer

First Presbyterian Church of Nashville soccer leagueSpring 2023 Soccer Season

  • Registration is now closed.

First Presbyterian Church has a long history of using our beautiful property to encourage playfulness and relational connection to enhance faith development in people of all ages. The act of playing together can teach us many things about ourselves, our neighbors, and our creator. Athletics can be a beautiful vehicle for growth and discipleship. Because of this, we believe children’s soccer is an important part of our mission here at FPC and we are excited about the fall soccer season.

During the soccer season, we will host seven Saturday gamedays. All games will be held on the FPC campus between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Saturday game days.

Picture Day

We are thrilled to have D-Image LLC back this season to offer soccer photos for any of our teams and players. Every team is scheduled to have their pictures taken, but they are not required to purchase these photos. Find the schedule Here. This year’s picture day will take place on May 6. This season our pictures will take place in the field of grass adjacent to the Front Fields. (to the left of Field 12 on this map). All of the logistics and organization for this is handled directly by D-Image, and all additional information pertaining to the process can be found here.

Player Information

  • Teams are available for boys and girls, ages 3 years through rising 4th graders.
  • Team & Season Communications
    • Coaches are the primary communicators for each team. Since the schedule is set for the duration of the season, FPC Recreation will not send out weekly email updates this season.
  • Practice Times and Locations
    • Practice times and locations are set by coaches.
  • Player Equipment Needed
    • FPC will provide jerseys for each team. Parents will need to provide cleats, shin guards, water bottles, and a ball for their child.
  • Updated Jerseys
    • Families who have been around for a while will notice some changes this season.
    • All divisions will be using the same, reversible jersey. One side will be navy blue and the other will be gray.
    • As we know that many teams enjoy having unique designs, we have no issue with teams creatively decorating their jerseys! For numbering and lettering on jerseys, we recommend contacting Cheryl Hanvey at Second Generation Graphics at 615-668-9337 or [email protected]
    • To keep gamedays simple and avoid delays in start times: if a team appears on the left column of the schedule, they will wear grey on that gameday. If a team is on the right side, they will wear navy blue on that gameday.

Coach Information

  • Coaches’ Manual (pdf)
  • We will try to accommodate team member/roster requests to make it easier for carpooling, existing school relationships, etc., but we cannot close any teams to children who are not currently connected to a team. Please have a list of your preferred team members ready at registration.
  • Our Recreation Team will review your roster submission, and team rosters will be finalized and released by March 17.
  • Coaches Orientation Meeting will be held Wednesday, March 22nd, at 6:00 p.m. via Zoom.
  • Jerseys will be available for pickup March 20-24, from 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., at the church office. If you are unable to pick up jerseys that week, all remaining jerseys will be in the Cannon Center on the first gameday.
  • As you plan your team’s practice schedule, please note that practices will not be on the FPC campus this season as we continue to improve the quality of the fields for gamedays.
  • All coaches must complete a background check.
